sermon writing

I very often have something on tv while writing sermons. I'm trying to finish a wedding homily type sermon for tomorrow. I'm not sure that Juno was the best choice for the tv background, however, I did laugh a lot -- like the kind of laugh evoked by Gracebythesea and Will Smama and company at dinner. (wait ... who's birthday is it???)

Juno is way more funny than I expected. And the sermon is way less done. I guess the friday five will have to wait 'cause the wedding is kinda early so I need to finish sooner rather than later.

"Juno" is one of my new favorite movies. I have watched it now about six times.

"That's one doodle that can't be undid, home skillet."

I think Mac's speech to Juno would make a fine wedding homily. If only you can translate "sun shines out your *ss" in church-friendly terms.

cheesehead, you ROCK! Mac's speech to Juno is a fine wedding homily!

Here's my church edit:

In my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you, the right person will still think the sun shines [no matter what. Okay that's not what he really says but I can't put the real thing in a sermon.] That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with.

So we are going to celebrate the Chick's fifteenth birthday by using my data projector and showing Juno on the side of the house. And don't forget, we live in a cemetary. Should be a fun show!

we have a 14th birthday on Sunday for which I have no responsibilities other than driving a million miles

I don't know about Juno...except a really cold place in AK.

So...did that couple ever get a wedding homily?
